Sleep Health with Cassey Maynard
Cassey Maynard is an Energy Coach, Trainer and Yoga Instructor who is passionate about helping people live a healthier, happier, more energised life. We ask Cassey how she incorporates pure essential oils into her daily lifestyle to improve her sleep routine and energy levels.
What is the importance of sleep in regards to energy?
Quality sleep is a vital part of living a healthy lifestyle and feeling more energised.
To operate at our body’s peak potential we need to have quality sleep every night. Deep sleep allows the body to rest and restore many functions that are used on a day to day basis that will give us the energy we need. Some of these include regulating hormones and strong immune system.
Beyond making us feel groggy, moody and low vibes a poor sleep can cause us to make unhealthy food choices and impact the amount of movement we choose to do.
How do you use pure essential oils to assist with Sleep?
I diffuse In Essence ie: Sleep in the lounge room for 2-3 hours before bedtime. I also will take my diffuser into the bathroom for my evening bath or shower so I can switch out of work mode and into my home life. I will apply the ie: Sleep Roll On to my temples, forehead and neck when I jump into bed to take me off to dreamland.
What is your bedtime ritual?
I diffuse In Essence ie: Sleep formula after I finish work for the day. I’ll do a calming stretch and breathing meditation then I will jump into a steamy shower or bath session that includes oils, music, dry body brushing, moisturising and a face massage.
I will prep and eat my dinner in my PJs. I try and switch off my electronics at least an hour before I go to sleep and I have a very strict ‘no phones in the bedroom policy’
I love to sip on a Turmeric Latte to warm my belly and support my hormones then I’ll read a book and/or journal in bed. Apply In Essence ie: Sleep Roll On to my temples, forehead and back of my neck and some magnesium on my tummy.
Lights out by 9.30pm so I can get up early feeling refreshed and energised.
What are some extra tips and tricks for a better nights sleep?
